Let us commemorate the end of slavery in the United States and celebrate African American heritage and culture. Here’s to the strength, courage, and resilience of the enslaved Africans who persevered through unimaginable hardship and adversity to secure their freedom. Let us all continue to fight for justice and equality for all!

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 ounces Texas or Black-owned bourbon whiskey
• 2 ounces fresh squeezed lemon juice
• 1 ounce simple syrup
• 3 ounces Avec Hibiscus & Pomegranate mixer or steeped hibiscus tea
• 1 slice dehydrated or candied lemon

Instructions

• Add the bourbon, lemon juice, and simple syrup into a shaker with ice, and shake until well-chilled.
• Strain into a Mason jar over crushed ice, and top with Hibiscus & Pomegranate mixer.
• Garnish with candied lemon.
